In Shell

Using a compact/ face powder is not exactly my cup of tea, but since I am all about “let’s see what happens” I gave one compact a try on a “Regular Basis” and by this I mean when I am out every day.

Maybelline recently came out with this super affordable, new compact called “White SuperFresh Compact”, which is a whitening compact and it comes in three shades, namely Coral, Shell and Pearl.

For me shell is most suitable shade out of the three. The compact claims a lot of things like no touch ups required, lasts 12 hours etc. But does it really keep up with the claims or not!

Read on to find out!

First of all I would like to let you know; I am not at all interested in the “Whitening” aspect of this because I am not about “Fair is Beautiful” and would like to stick to it. But this particular product does brighten the complexion, not ghastly-white-bright but subtle-bright bright (If you must know about the whitening claim).

Price – 150 INR for 8g
Packaging – I like the white and sleek packaging. This comes in a plastic pack with a mirror and the product inside along with an applicator/puff. It’s light and easy to carry, not very sturdy but just about right! All the details are on a sticker at the back

Shade – Shell is the shade I am reviewing. It is a shade perfect for fair to medium/wheatish skin tones. This would be perfect for dark circles etc. as this one has a very prominent orange undertone.

Product – The compact is really light on skin and the powder is very finely milled so the application is like a breeze! Not cakey, not harsh, nothing. Though I don’t like the puff it comes with much, because I think it holds onto the product too much and I end up using a lot of it. But if you don’t have anything else at hand then this puff works fine.

My experience –

As far as covering spots go, this gives a light to medium coverage which, I think is sufficient for everyday use. This has a very flowery-talcum-powder sort of fragrance which is not something I am a very big fan of. But since the smell fades away in sometime, I can adjust with that.

It stays put for 4 -5 hours easily and also keeps my skin matt for that long, but if you have dry skin, you will have to use it over well moisturized skin otherwise it will get all powdery and patchy. I can say this because I have combination skin and I think it works really well for my T-zone, but around my cheeks it gets a little chalky when applied on a lightly or not moisturized skin.

Retouching is required after 5 -6 hours for sure or my face starts getting slightly oily.
Instantly after application, you might feel that it looks white-ish, but after a few minutes it settles down and the color matches the skin tone.
It’s easy to carry and is very budget friendly as well.

All in all, it is a budget friendly, good product which one can use as a regular wear option, plus it has UV filters. And I like carrying this because of the mirror in the sleek packaging.

The one and only problem I have with this is that this has ONLY three shades and for fair skin tones.

I would recommend you to try this , if you are looking for a medium coverage, budget friendly compact for everyday use.

Must have meter –

I will give this a 7 on the MHM. How much will you give??
Leave me your comments down in the comments section!!

Loads of love,
