Indian nail art blog, Kolkata: Revlon parfumerie scented nail enamel (nail polish) in Bordeaux swatches, review and price in India
Hellooo everyone! How is life just after Navratri/ Durga puja
going?
Right now,I am so proud to say that I have controlled myself
from buying anything till now, because I am on a shopping ban and let’s see for
how long I can keep the control over myself.
I bought the Revlon parfumerie nail polish ( in Bordeaux) just
before I went on my shopping ban and finally I am reviewing this.
My first reaction when I saw this color was “OOHHHHH, what a
beeeeauutiful shade!”
The SA didn’t even need to say anything about the range, and
especially the shade and I was all over it :P. (Nail polish freak?? I know :P )
But I have to say this, I am disappointed with the polish!
Very much!
You must have seen all the colors on my instagram account (not
following me yet !? hmmmmmm).
Let’s get on with the full review-
Color: - Bordeaux
is a actually a wine from Bordeaux, a district in SW France.
So naturally the color, since named after a wine, is a wine
color. No shimmers or glitters.
It has a beautiful purple tone to it, which no
camera could capture and believe me I tried very hard to get the proper color.
But basically it is a maroon color, like a red wine.
Packaging: - The
packaging of these polishes is so attractive that 50% women would buy it without
thinking! Cute! A rectangular box shaped bottle with a round black handle. But the handle is not very good for holding while applying the polish.
Brush: - Thick brush,
which can take out a lot of polish at once!
Formula: -
Beautiful, thick creamy formula, but when it comes with a thick brush proper
application becomes a nightmare in case of a creamy polish.
Finish: - I do
not like it, it is horrible. Period. It stays put, dries slowly (second layer)
, does not spread. And to top it all off it forms a lot of bubbles!
I applied the nail color 3 times for 4 days each to test it
properly (because I did not want to agree that it can be bad!) but every time,
even when I applied 1 coat, bubbles were formed!
Longevity:-
Heartbreaking! Chips within a day!!!!! 2 out of 3 times it chipped the very
first day of application and on the second day once. And it fades off.
Coverage: - Takes
two coats for full opacity.
Nail art: - I don’t
think it would be good for a base.
Fragrance: - the speciality
of this range! I wish I could sample the fragrance of these polishes while
buying ( Revlon, Are you listening?? ) because this smells exactly like red
wine!
And my room smells like wine :P after I apply this! The fragrance stays for the whole time but on
day one it is really strong and is like a perfume (in my case sweet cherry wine
perfume :P)
Price:- 350 INR
Quantity:- 11.4
ml
Rating:- 2 (for
the packaging and shade) / 5
So all in all, thick brush+ creamy polish + bubbles = Not a
good nail poilish!
I would not recommend this at this price. I was so excited
about this range and I am not going to buy these anymore, expensive and bad!
I am so sad that I could not spend this durga puja properly
I was down with fever this puja. :(
But, I did a bit of pandal hopping; don’t forget to see thebeautiful idols I saw :)
Did you get any color
from this range? Do you like this color??
